I saw your msg on forum solving the 'classic yet complicated' crypto challenge and you're willing to help. I have tried following the forum thread but none of the posts are any helpful. All hint is bullsh*t, like 'vinegar' and 'salad' and other things like that with no help. I have so far got the to the point that this must be a substitution cipher and found the repeating sequence in the ciphtertext:
lccjdstslpahzn fptspf. I calculated the length of the repeating cycle to be 268. Could you give me more hints how to solve this? Am I going in the right direction? I have a hunch that this must be the vigenere cipher but I do not know the key either. Thanks, qmi
