Going for OSCP. Tips?

Hey everyone. I’m going to start OSCP and i would like to request some tips and websites that you used to learn during the exam. Thanks!

There’s a couple of great write-ups here in the forums:

I’m also starting the course this week

Thank you all

Thanks a lot

As I mentioned in another post I would recommend using the WinterWolf webshell - makes things a little easier if required.

Here’s a recent writeup with some good tips and also talks about modernisation of the exam machines: OSCP Review (+ tips) | Laurence Tennant

https://guif.re/

Lots of excellent info on there.

Personal advice:

  • I would use a mainstream OS that just works in case you have tech issues with proctoring if you don’t already run something in that category.
  • Also, if you don’t decide to do the writeups for the 5 points ( I didn’t ), at least do a mock write-up of a few machines. Get the formatting the way you want so you can just cut and paste for your submission. Trust me, the last thing you are feeling after that exam is writing a report. Make it easy on yourself so you can focus on the important stuff, like not messing up the rest of the submission process…

That contains a lot of very good info.
