Occasionally one needs to fiddle with Virtual Network Editor, on vmware workstation…not sure this relates to your issue, but I found that at times I, for one, had to remap Adapter to a certain physical NIC, to make all virtual adapters work in Linux VMs…google for related issues, it that sounds similar, and you may find a solution…good luck…
