Cant Connect to VPN (solved, Im that new)

Discloser: I just started on Hack the Box and I am super green at all things hacking.

I was able to connect before today: US (have not tried EU)

now i cannot ping the server, cannot get nmap to even spit an error.

i have removed the .ovpn file and retrieved it again.

The ovpn is there.

I have changed the permissions of ovpn to be executable.

i just cannot figure out why I am having an issue getting the VPN to connect.

also im having an issue getting mssql-cli to work i cannot even “get” the .py file anywhere, anyone have a solution? Im running Kali2020 debian (updated) on a Mac if that helps.

Just to check - have you tried openvpn GalacticOmlett.ovpn ?

and now i feel really new, i kept putting sudo infront of the line.

Glad its working now.

Personally, I find the way Kali 2020 has changed the user account privs to be really annoying.

i had kali2019 and really loved it, then i needed to make another machine and made a mistake and took out my 2019 mirror and now i cant find one. im bullshit about it and think the new kali2020 was a waste of someones time.
